As already seen in my articles, I love abstract art, where my feelings decide what the painting represents. The work must not give me a solution, a clear image, but it must give me a feeling, an emotion. As I have already written, it must, in essence, simply amaze me.
That is why I want to tell you about an abstract artist who manages to concentrate on everything I have just said: Yann Houri. A young (born in 1990) French artist, living and working in Paris, somewhere between painting and sculpture. And this is his special characteristic, or rather, that of his paintings. If in my previous article I spoke about "sculpt drawings, " the matter is painting sculptures.

His innovative technique and continuous experimentation with colors, materials and processes, manages to make his abstract paintings, emerge from the canvas, or the flat support that houses them.
Its waves of color really explode toward the observer. The effect is, at least on me, terribly fascinating and hypnotic. What Yann wants to try to represent are emotions, specifically a single moment of an emotion, which is why the work cannot be static, because the emotion evolves, grows, becomes disruptive.
It is the emotion that guides Yann's hand in making. Nothing is predetermined, everything follows and evolves, even with long lead times, shaped by the artist's enlightened instinct, just as the interpretation will be shaped by the viewer's instinct, as Yann himself reports:
« A work of art is a place of meeting and sharing, it only exists and lives through the mind of the viewer »

His style and ability to go "beyond the picture" have made him world-famous, and his works have been exhibited in museums on every continent.
Look at his works now, and search within yourself for the moment or the emotion that is represented for you, what will the colors do? Will they explode? Will they run over you? Will they move as in the wind? Everyone has their own answer, and it is always right. Just get excited.
